The Rotary Foundation
The Rotary Foundation (TRF) of Rotary International is a not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
Every Rotarian is encouraged to contribute funds to TRF; more than 90% of donations received go directly to support service projects in the following areas of focus:
· Promoting peace
· Providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
· Saving mothers and children
· Supporting education
· Growing local economies
· Fighting disease
During the past 100 years, TRF has spent $3 billion on life-changing, sustainable service projects around the world. TRF was named World’s Outstanding Foundation for 2016 and 2017 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
In the effort to eradicate polio globally, The Rotary Foundation has committed to raising $50 million per year over the next three years; every dollar raised will be matched with two additional dollars from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. We are on the brink of eradicating polio; as of July 31, 2017, only eight cases of polio were reported, the lowest number in history. To date, over 2 billion children have been immunized against polio.
TRF brings Rotarians from around the world together to accomplish more than what can be done individually, to help other individuals and communities achieve better living conditions and better futures.
Our contributions to The Rotary Foundation continue to ensure that peoples’ lives are touched and peoples’ lives are saved all over the world.
